Cleaning Business Fundamentals
Why you’re here — bookkeeping help
Why we’re here
Welcome to Blue Skies Admin Services! You may have heard of our very own window washing and cleaning business, Blue Skies Services, which had four locations in three states.
Let us quickly explain how we can provide solid administrative services so you can focus on your operations. From our window washing and maid service success, we organically grew this bookkeeping business to help other cleaning companies with their bookkeeping needs.
Why we started bookkeeping services specifically for service companies
So you know we owned our own cleaning businesses, but why do we start bookkeeping service specifically for other service-based companies?
Because the CEO of our cleaning companies, Dan Platta, was a finance triple-major in college who became an accountant after graduation, then he was promoted to risk management while studying for and then passing the CFA exams (not a simple feat). When he left the corporate world, he applied all of that financial gusto as CEO of Blue Skies Services, a $3 million cleaning company in four locations.
These experiences were the perfect mix to create a bookkeeping system specifically geared toward service businesses who serve clients in their homes or offices.
Here’s why we say our admin business was “organically grown”
After years in the service industry, we have come to know several other cleaning businesses like ours. We started helping each other out in various ways. One way we helped was with bookkeeping. And, it worked for them!
“That’s great,” We’d say after helping another company crush their financial goals. Pretty soon, our friends told their friends about our assistance. Soon, other companies who we didn’t know were trying to get a hold of us. Before we knew it, the demand for bookkeeping, well — demanded that we start a new business!
We love doing this stuff – we had a bookkeeping system that took years to develop, and other companies found it helpful for themselves, too. What more could you ask from life than finding something you enjoy doing that happens to benefit other people? We consider ourselves lucky, and that’s why we love helping other companies grow.
